III Sahel-Europe Dialogue Forum
The Sahel Europe Dialogue Forum
The Sahel-Europe Dialogue Forum is an academic initiative that began in 2021 at the Centre for International Security and the Observatory for Africa of the Francisco de Vitoria University (Spain). This multidisciplinary network of international experts aims to promote dialogue and joint research between the Sahel, the Maghreb, West Africa and Europe, as well as the international community involved in security, peace and stability in the Sahel. Experts analyse and study international policy and security issues affecting the three regions (security, diplomacy, the humanitarian, peace and development nexus, the promotion of good governance and human rights, etc.). A summary of the conference is published after each edition.
The Sahel Europe Dialogue Forum is an annual academic meeting where a hundred or so key actors from the Sahel and the international community involved in peace and stability in the Sahel, including academics, international organisations, governments, diplomats, the military, civil society organisations, journalists and humanitarian organisations, come together to respond to the evolving international and Sahelian context, promoting dialogue between the various actors involved in the multidimensional Sahel crisis and providing recommendations to stakeholders to adapt their strategies to the realities on the ground.
